The short version: Verusara is a school fundraising platform. We collect only what we need to process donations and pay schools. We never collect student data. We never sell your information. We use Stripe for all payment processing — your card data never touches our servers.

1. Who We Are

Verusara ("we," "us," or "our") is a fundraising platform that facilitates direct community donations to Oklahoma public schools. We are operated by Hoyt Fischbeck, doing business as Verusara, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

2. Information We Collect

From donors:

Name and email address (when provided during checkout)
Donation amount and the school or classroom the donation supports
Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, bank account details, or any other sensitive payment data.
School or district name (collected as a custom field during checkout)

From partner schools:

School name, district, city, and county
Contact name, title, email, and phone number
Bank account information — connected directly through Stripe Express. We do not store your bank account numbers on our servers.
Campaign details including fundraising goals and intended use of funds

Automatically collected:

Basic web analytics (page views, referral sources) if analytics tools are enabled
Standard server logs including IP addresses and browser type

    🔒 We never collect student data. Students are beneficiaries of campaigns — they are never users of this platform. We collect no information about students, including names, ages, grades, or any other personally identifiable information.
  

3. How We Use Your Information

To process donations and route 90% of funds to the recipient school
To send transaction confirmations and receipts
To communicate with partner schools about their campaigns and payouts
To display campaign progress and leaderboard information on public campaign pages
To comply with legal and financial reporting requirements
To respond to support requests

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When you donate, your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and never passes through or is stored on Verusara's servers.

School payouts are facilitated through Stripe Connect, which requires schools to complete Stripe's own identity verification process. School bank account information is stored by Stripe, not by Verusara.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

With Stripe — to process payments and facilitate school payouts
With schools — campaign totals and donor counts (not individual donor names or emails unless the donor opts in)
With Formspree — to receive and manage contact form and application submissions
As required by law — if compelled by a valid legal process

We do not share your information with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain donor information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including for tax and financial record-keeping purposes (generally 7 years). School partner information is retained for the duration of the partnership and for a reasonable period thereafter.

You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting [email protected]. Note that we may be required to retain certain records for legal or financial compliance purposes.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies necessary for site functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Our website is served over HTTPS, and sensitive operations are handled through Stripe's secure infrastructure. Access to administrative systems is restricted and protected by multi-factor authentication through Cloudflare Zero Trust.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Verusara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

As noted above, student data is never collected under any circumstances. Students are the intended beneficiaries of school campaigns but have no direct interaction with this platform.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:

The right to access the personal information we hold about you
The right to correct inaccurate information
The right to request deletion of your information
The right to opt out of communications from us
